basil3800ppxNUT FREE BASIL PESTO RECIPE – For those of you who don’t use use nuts because you may want to keep the fats down in your diet, or who have allergies here is a recipe you may want to try.

INGREDIENTS
3 cups fresh Organic Basil
1.5 cups pumpkin seeds (can substitute hemp or sunflower seeds too)
1/4 – 1/2 cup of olive oil (depending on the thickness you like of pesto)
1 clove of fresh garlic
1/2 – 1 teaspoon of sea salt (to taste)

Combine ingredients together to make pesto paste and enjoy.

HOW TO:
Process the basil first with pulsing in processor or blender, then add seeds garlic and salt while slowly drizzling the olive oil into the blender or processor.

For a cheesier taste you can also add some nutritional yeast, add about 2 – 3 tablespoons depending on the amount of cheese taste you like.

This will last in the fridge for up to one week, enjoy as a dip or on pasta or in a raw wrap of your choice as a spread with other ingredients.
