Since I learned about the toxic ingredients in the personal care items I so loved I dropped them immediately. The very idea that I was paying someone to poison me was too much to bear.

I removed all chemical scented items from my environment, yes it was a bit hard since I had just spent hundreds on perfume (can you hear the universe laughing out loud, and who says it doesn’t have a sense of humor…but I digress) that ended up in the garbage..I didn’t even feel well giving it to someone…oh well Karl Lagerfeld and the Fendi Sisters  won’t be getting my money anymore….

I found that using therapeutic grade essential oils suited me better simply because they were clean, healing and better for my body and environment. I began making my own toothpaste, deodorant and body creams and to this day am so grateful to the universe for leading me in this direction. Today it is increasingly irksome to be near individuals who bathe themselves in these toxic fumes and walk into the clinic where I am a colon hydrotherapist. However, I use the occasion as a “teachable moment” to let them know …you are coming here to detox the colon yet you are making yourself more toxic with the perfume/cologne you are heavy handedly using….they usually get the point.

images-2Today we are exposed to more than 10,000 ingredients which are allowed for use in personal care products — and the average woman wears 515 of them every day, according to a 2009 British study that looked at the routines of over 2,000 women.

Very little is known about the health effects of these chemicals. More than 90% have never been tested for their effects on human health, and complete toxicity data are available for only 7% of them. Even though government agencies are aware of the health hazards of some ingredients, such as hydroquinone or phthalates, they are still allowed in personal care products.

Are you aware that most of the shampoos and personal care products used today have cancer causing agents? images

FRAGRANCE: Fragrance is present in most deodorants, shampoos, sunscreens, skin care, body care, and baby products. Many of the compounds in fragrance are carcinogenic or otherwise toxic. “Fragrance on a label can indicate the presence of up to 4,000 separate ingredients. Most of all of them are synthetic. symptoms reported to the FDA have included headaches, dizziness, rashes, skin discoloration, violent coughing and vomiting, and allergic skin irritation. Clinical observation by medical doctors have shown that exposure to fragrances can affect the central nervous system, causing depression, hyperactivity, irritability, inability to cope, and other behavioral changes.”

As a colon hydrotherapist and detox consultant I see so many women with bowel and hormonal issues that once they simply remove these toxic substances from their lives see improvement in their wellbeing. Fibroids, Tumors, IBS, Reproductive Issues and more are affected by the use of these toxins daily and are one of the major players that are the the silent attackers that cause illness in women today…..women who all don’t know they can smell good with just using essential oils. The  elite in society from the Egyptians on down only used what would be considered therapeutic grade essential oils today, not the watered down cheap synthetic castoff that is used today as ….perfume/cologne.

If you don’t know where or how to begin to remove these toxic chemicals from you life check out my class here.
